Hi,
I just updated my BIOS for my MSI 850 Pro 5 (MS-6545) from 1.2 to 1.7. I realize that after updating, BIOS is restored to the defaults. Some of these I believe enable certain things that should not be enabled. For example, I have a Sound Blaster Audigy Platinum; however, I think the onboard sound might have been enabled in settings and will cause conflicts.
What should I disable?
Should I disable the Onboard Sound, AC97 Audio and AC97 Modem settings (they are set to Auto at the moment), and the Gameport and Midi IRQs. Should I not disable any of these? Are there any more settings that I should disable?
I'm pretty sure for video cards, setting to AGP to primary graphics source is what you do, but if there's anything else, please let me know.
Also, aside from the sound and video cards, is there anything else that needs to be set to make sure my computer runs as it should?
Thank you!
