depends on how well you can cook?

do you know how to boil water?

if not... you might wanna make Alka-Seltzer the appetizer ;)

check this idea from Smoove B

"....The next morning, I will cook breakfast for you. I will fry up several eggs, each in a different style for you to choose from. There will be scrambled eggs, fried eggs, boiled eggs, baked eggs and even egg sandwiches. There will be a smorgasbord of taste sensations for your tender lips to enjoy.

I will then pick a beautiful red rose from outside the bedroom window and put it in an elegant glass vase upon your food tray. The tray will be only the finest food tray from the far reaches of the earth.

I will also serve cereal. ..."

Aw, please, girl. Bring your sugar to me, and I will show you that my back is strong. You will ride me all day and all night and will never want to stop.

start with seafood bisque (light cream base with shrimp, scallops, and crab, recipe found on net)
mixed greens with lite italian dressing (mixed greens in a bag from local grocery store, add dried cranberries is a bonus)
pasta alfredo with snowcrab (get snowcrab and alfredo sauce from price club... cheat and easy)

end with banana boat (whip together bananas and whipcream very very easy to do, place in a boat like container)
or make cream bulee(sp?) this is a bit harder but more fancy, recipe found on net
or make zablionne(sp?) very difficult even with recipe... my only failure when attempting to cook from recipe.

I came up with this quazi-Thai-Cajun-Mexican wrap that is DELICIOUS! Thai-spicy hot, too. Here's how you make it:

2 tsp Mongolian Fire Oil
2 tsp Wok Oil (seasoned oil with garlic, corriander, salt)
1 lb bonless chicken breasts, cut into 1" cubes
1/4 Cup Spicy Thai Peanut Sauce
1 tsp Red Curry

1 Cup Rice
1 Cups Water
1 tbsp Butter

1 Cup cut Pineapple chunks in juice
1 Red Bell Pepper, sliced into strips

Large flour tortillas

Add the Rice, Water, and butter in a 1 quart microwave-safe bowl. Cover with celophene and place in the microwave for 12 minutes on high.

In a medium frying pan or wok, heat oils over medium-high heat. Add the chicken cubes and stir-fry 'till the meat is white all the way through. Reduce heat to medium and add peanut sauce and curry. Continue to stir occasionally until all of the peanut sauce has adhered to the chicken (it will turn a dark, mollasses brown.)

In a medium frying pan, add the bell pepper, pineapple and two tbsp of it's juice over medium-high heat. Cook until the pineapple starts to brown.

To serve: Add rice, chicken, pineapple & peppers to a tortilla and eat it burrito style.

Whatever you do just remember to cook it a few times by yourself before hand so you

1.) know whether it actually tastes good or not (people's tastes differ)
2.) you can actually cook it come crunch time

Aside from that you can also watch the food channel for some ideas :)

Got a few.. I am a HUGE fan of Thai food. Have some friends that own an authentic thai restraunt, taught me how to make a few dishes. If you like spicey hot food (I mean sweating bullets hot), I have a few for you.

How 'bout some good old jambalaya? It's pretty easy and damn tasty:

Chop up one chicken breast and one andouille sausage, sautee til browned

Add 1/2 chopped onion and 2-4 minced garlic cloves (depending on how much you like garlic) and sautee

Once onions/garlic are slightly translucent, add one cup rice (dry) and stir til coated with oil from sausage

Add 1/2 chopped pepper (red, green, or yellow...whatever you like)

Add 1 cup chopped celery

Add one can diced tomatoes

1/4 cup minced fresh parsley

Add 3 cups hot water (should look pretty soupy...rice will soak this up)

Add: 2 bay leaves, a healthy pinch of thyme, some pepper, 1 tsp powdered cayenne pepper and whatever kind of hot sauce you may happen to like to add spice.

I personally have had excellent results with Dave's Insanity Sauce. It only takes about a level teaspoon for the whole batch, but it's very tasty.

Simmer on med head on stove until rice is cooked/water is absorbed. Stir occasionally or the rice will anneal itself to the bottom of your pot.

Serve with cold beer or a sweet-ish white wine such as Pouilly-Fume, Sancerre, Gewurtztraminer, etc.

Good luck,
Fausto

How about spaghetti with home made sauce? It doens't take a lot of talent to make a reall good spaghetti sauce.

What you need:

A few cans of tomato paste (amount depends on how much you want to make)
a green pepper
hamburger or sausage
onion powder
basil
oregano
cyan pepper
edit: d'oh! I forgot the most important thing: fresh garlic
sugar (optional)
salt (optional)

start with the tomato paste and add water until it has the consistency that you want. cook your hamburger or sausage, and don't go overboard, you don't need a lot of meat in the sauce. When it's done, throw that in.
Add the other seasonings. If you make a big pot, I reccomend half of the green pepper, a tea spoon of everything else except the basil. Need lots of basil. And I would put in about 3 cloves of garlic. yumm

Seems like main courses are covered, but if you are looking for a quick, easy and impressive sweet then you could try this...

Buy some sponge flan cases, small ones...
Fill the bottom with freshly whipped cream and top with fresh fruit (whatever strikes your fancy, I usually use strawberries, but remember to take the stem out. Although the constrast of green and red looks great for garnishing its not so cool when you go to kiss and you both have green leaves sticking out of your teeth)
Then make a ganache.
1/2 c cream, heat it til its nearly boiliing then take it off the heat and add 1/2 cup of chocolate bits.
Mix til the chocolate has melted and allow to cool then cover your fruit sponges with the cooled sauce...

It looks like you spent hours making it but its very quick and easy.
