Ya got 99 in yur name so I'll respond ;)

I'm a private jet mechanic and we work on every aspect of a business/corparate/private jet. When we work on the heads up display's and CRT's in the cockpit the 'ephiss' screens are very, very sensitive. Cleaning these with ANYTHING leaves a 'blue' hue on the ephiss screens in the cockpit and in my opinion, laptop screens are just as a important to use the right product to clean a screen with. Using a window cleaner etc are a bad thing - most all cleaners have something in them that can be detramental to screen (amonia for example).

Look for a cleaner (aerosal can) called CRT/Video screen cleaner. They're about 5.00 a can and will not harm, damage or leave ANY film on your laptop screens.

Hope this helps and good luck!

Spit and turpentine... lots and lots of turpentine. :D

But personally, I picked up these wet/dry wipes made by Curtis a while back. Basically, it's a towelette soaked in some alcohol-based mixture for the first application and a second lint-free "paper" to dry it off. It works, but I'm really hesitant in using that paper dryer -- it's extremely dry and I'm really scared I'll end up buffing the screen instead of just drying it. I just let the screen air dry. Kensington also puts out their own screen cleaner along with other computer accesory manufacturers.

I'd also take a look at Tony Gaylord's recommendation. Those things work great on glass surfaces and if you've got something soft like a terrycloth (yeah, there's lint but it blows away easily), they work just as well on laptop screens.

Ahhh Tenchim, thanks.....

I got one other piece of advice here with regards of what to use to do the wipping with. Please bare in mind that the windshilds of these aircraft are (yes, it's true) are $21,000 for ONE side (including the labor to install). So for a pilot and co-pilot side its in the neighborhood of $42,000+ so cleaning these are intensely critical. Cessna's private jet department reccomends using......drum roll........ CHEESECLOTH to clean all cabin and windshield's. They are a acrylic composition and scratch very easily. Cheesecloth is just like your gauss you use to wrap up a burn ;) Its lint free and doesn't have any properties to scratch. At $21,000 a side for a windshield, if you scratch them, well you know the rest hehhh hehhe. If we use cheesecloth to clean - a laptop's screen will be safe, I can almost guarentee it :)

God - off this subject already hehhh heh.

Take care.
