cf card

ssd

usb drive

so hier is the situation
i am in vocation and i full my laptop drive so i want a media to take some files off the poor drive i was thinking a regulard hard drive but then mooving with a mechanical drive is a disaster calling to happen

from size aspect
sdhc>cf>usb>ssd
$ per giga
sdhc 0.81 euro/per giga
cf 1.78 euro/per giga
ssd 1.01 euro/per giga
usb 0.74 euro/per giga
from money aspect the cf is way to expensive
the ssd needs an adaper to connect so that makes the solution more expensive and closer to cf cost
usb i had my rally2 32gigia died on my on this trip
still not able to recover the data from there so i am wondering to buy again a usb drive
sdhc has the read only switch which is nice feature
what you would recoment to buy??
i am leaning towards the sdhc to the moment

5)hard drive

am i crazy but when i ask fro help noone reply to me??
i had my usb drive dead asked for help how to get the files form the drive no reply at all
i ask for this no reply
and yet you talk and talk if the upcoming 1245 generation of buldozer will be faster than the 358159 generation of intel

What a drama queen.

It's been less than 3 hours since you posted this thread.

Your USB stick died. It's dead. Without expensive equipment and expensive knowledge, you will not ever see that data again.

Buy whatever you want to. I think you already know the advantages / disadvantages to each technology option.

I would get another USB. If you are concerned about reliability, then get SDXC. If you need lots of space, get a HDD. Everything can fail.

everything can fail i know that
but since i am traveling there is the issue of shock from the travel
so hdd i do not see it a viable option

Get an SDXC then. Less likely to fail and small. Write speeds won't be that good though.

I travel a lot with my laptop, and take about 1000 pictures a trip. My laptop has a 320GB main drive and a 500GB secondary drive. I could never run out of storage space. I really fail to understand the lack of planning here.
