I have have 1.8@2.4ghz P4 on a 4g4a (845g) with 512meg of pc3200 ram and a 8500 128meg at 300/300. I am looking at a new video card. Probly the x800Pro. I wasn't going to by a new video card until HL2 or Doom III came out but now I have the 10% off coupon that is only good for this weekend and about $100 in reward zone money that expires June 12. The x800 pro cost $400, so it would cost me $260. The 9800 pro cost $250, so it would cost me $125. What should I do? I want to run games at 1280x1024 at 4AA and 16AF.

Do either one come with a HL2 coupon? I don't think they do, but I could be wrong.

Based on this and my cpu being some where between the XP2100 and XP2500. My cpu should be between them correct? The x800 pro will get me about 8 more fps at 1280x1024 4AA 8AF. However, thinking long term the x800 pro may be better. The 9800 pro may be down to $125 around the first of the year, but I don't think the x800 pro will be $260 by then. Basicly the x800 pro will stay above what I paid for it longer and last longer. It will last me through a cpu upgrade assuming I stay with AGP which I would if I got it. No planes for a cpu upgrade until the end of this year or early next year by the way.
