What To Buy.. Just Got Paid :)

Okay I've been looking for a portable audio player and I've narrowed it down to the IRiver iMP350 Slim X, Rio Volt SP250. I am leaning more towards the IRiver Slim X because well it looks so cool, but after reading the specs it says it uses 2 Stick Rechageable NiMH batteries and I don't want to have to keep buying more rechageable batteries as they probably are expensive. Anyone out there have one of these? If so can you tell me if you can just use that AA external battery back without the slim rechargeable batteries?? Any input would be greatly appreciated.
