What to bring to a work BBQ?

The main course is already taken care of. I can bring either an appetizer, some type of salad, or some type of dessert. I'm getting the impression around the office that whatever people are bringing are homemade stuff. What the heck can I bring that's homemade? The only idea I have is buy some oysters to bring so I can grill them there as an appetizer. But I'm not even sure everyone likes oysters.

Any other suggestions?

Make some pasta/potato salad. Buy a pie from costco (yeah it isn't homemade but I don't think they'll care). Bring some marinated chicken wings/drumsticks

Most people would be relieved if you brought something like a bucket of KFC or a veggie tray from Costco, or a big box of cookies or something from the store. Too many people bring crap to those potlucks that even a dog wouldn't eat (and dogs really like to eat poop.) Then everyone has to compliment them on it, even though it ends up in the trash.

Macaroni & Cheese- Alton Brown style:

Linky

Made it for my coworkers one time. Easy to make and delicious. Just don't skimp on the whole milk!

Fruit Salad is really easy. Just mix a bunch of fruit that you like into a bowl, and you've got a salad.
