I'm trying to get the Microsoft Surface RT tomorrow which is a minimum of 100 units per store. If I get there at 6:30 and it opens at 8, should I be fine?

Have no idea...what item and which store? Unless its an apple product or tv, you can probably go anytime during the day

It must be the surface promo they have. You should be there around 3-4 am. I never shopped on black friday by waiting outside of a store, but I'm sure that at least 100 people will be interested in that tablet + keyboard.

I wouldn't have bothered. I think you'll be able to find Surface RT's all month long for $200 or less. They keyboard bundle does intrigue me though.

Something tells me that you'll still have plenty of opportunities to buy the Surface RT under $200 this Christmas season. Microsoft had almost a billion dollars worth of unsold inventory of them a few months ago.

Amusingly, I didn't see any half decent discounts on the Nexus 7... even the deals that I saw on the iPad Mini were better. I guess that we know who's winning the tablet wars now.

I don't think that has anything to do with it. I think saying "iPad" is a bigger draw for crowds. And they were typically just gift cards, which means the money will end up getting spent back in the store anyways, probably on accessories that cost the stores next to nothing, and you'll end up spending over the GC anyways typically.

I don't know how well the Surface sold. I strolled in to my BB at 3pm to pick up the mSD card for my Surface Pro and they still had RT's. They were even price matching Staples $250 with touch cover. Staples in my area supposedly still had them as well, but I didn't go to verify.
