25% performance increase over a GTX470, which puts it about 15% faster than an HD5870. I am guessing HD6950 will be faster by more than 15% over an HD5870.

Depends. Some NDAs go off PST, some don't.

Some sites will start leaking reviews for the early traffic, others (like Anand) wait until the real NDA lift.

I agree. I've never been about the aesthetics of hardware (i.e. I don't like turning my comp into a disco ball full of lights and lasers) but that Zotac looks pretty slick.
