Meh. I wanted a 4670K for another machine we have. Not even interested in IB either with the hassle of needing to delid it. I need a chip I can overclock as high as possible as the machine is mainly used for games that only benefit from high clocks, not cores.

May just see if I can find a 2500K still in stock somewhere. :p

I highly doubt you're going to get a 2500k to overclock that much above and beyond Haswell that its going to perform better. Heck I have a 2500k that can't outperform my 3770k even though ts clocked higher.

If the lower end i5s can overclock by Bclk like I'm hoping they can, this may make getting one that only OCs to 4GHz more attractive.

True. 5GHz SB = ~4.5GHz HW.

That may be right, but if those earlier numbers from a Haswell under an H110 hitting 94C @ 4.5Ghz are right.... Then again that was a 4770K with HT on.

Going to wait a few days and see on the forums how the 4670K is doing voltage/temp/clocks wise. Those 4770K results were 10C higher for every 100Mhz over 4.2.
