i was told its some special liquid solder stuff in a pencil form used for repairing circuit boards. anyone know the official name/ where to get it online, or in like a pep-boys type place
Go here MCM Electronics, and do a search for "conductive pen". MCM part number is 200-175 and it is $8.99 plus s/h. Mine came to around $15.86 but I live in Ohio (they are in Dayton, OH) so I also had to pay sales tax. Unlocked a Duron without any problems.
dont forget to close the bridges first with superglue or nailpolish or you will short out your cpu. The solder pen is just conductive ink and was not made specifically to unlock the xp cpu.
ok thanks everyone. i actually picked up a "fix a defogger" pen made by pennzoil thats is highly conductive and cotains metallic silver at my local Advanced Auto Parts.
just tell them you are looking for the pen to fix the back lines for your reaer defroster. they knew what i was talking about.
