Ok, first, I have a 19" AOC CRT monitor which makes a little sound every time u enter a game or change resolutions (screen goes black aswell). This is normal.

Anyways, I was playing Sims 2 and suddenly the monitor just started turning on and off like somebody was changing resolutions every second or so, and it kept on doing this until I turned the monitor off. I then pressed the shutdown button and while it was going off a completely corrupted windows came up, wrong colours everywhere, looked like 640x480, it was like thousands of artifacts put together. The computer then shut down and I turned it on again, no problems yet but does anybody know what this could be?

I've got a 6800 GS that idles around 45 and tops out at 70C while in game.

If the image contents were corrupted, then /that/ wasn't the monitor's fault (CRTs do not contain image processing memory).

This happens on my LCD when using DVI with my 9600, its actually the very same problem, it has to do with refresh rates and its the 9600 fault, doesn't happen with other cards.
