Nother? *shudder*
I hear that mistake all the time, but I've never seen it in print before.
Ahh, well. Carry on.

I, too, used to think it wasn't a word. The dictionary has shown me the error of my ways.

How about just give some benchmarks of real applications that both the Macs and PCs.
Games (even Macs have games, some pretty recent), Video Editing Software, Business Apps, the works. Like what Anandtech uses.
And I don't want to hear what YOU have to say. Take a look at the AMD vs Intel reviews that Anandtech does, sure, Intel and AMD have strengths and weaknesses, but you can still determine which is better overall.

"Macs are better for the video/graphical arts perspective, while Windows-based are better for the average user."
This is a HUGE myth that everyone seems to repeat over & over..."If your're into graphics, Macs are better"
I am a professional graphics person & I use an AMD XP Pro system. It runs Photoshop, Illustrator, Quark, Dreamweaver, Flash & Fireworks flawlessly! The user interfaces are similar on both platforms & there are not cross platform compatibility issues. I read that Macs are optimized to process faster with Photoshop, but you're talking about only a fews seconds faster...Nothing that dramatic.
Adobe actually supports their Windows products better now than Mac. I believe that some Adobe titles are no longer available for Macs.
I enjoy building PC's & gaming, so Mac's are not for me.

Back in HS a friend of mine had macs because it's all his father would buy. I got to use it quite a bit, and still didn't get it. Not saying they suck or anything, but I certainly don't like the interface. Plus I'm not part of their two main customer demographics; rich hippies and heavy media editors (although I dabble in video editing on my pc, which fulfills my needs for it just fine - and with a freeware program to boot - Virtual Dub). I do like to game and to tinker with my rig and with overclocking, and when the time comes I like to upgrade on my own or build anew on my own... so they're out in those respects as well. If you like them, great, but telling someone to spend twice as much to find out why they're so great, when the only thing they'd likely find out (if they're like the majority of computer useres) is that they paid way too much is ridiculous.if you really want to know why people use macs, go buy one, its that simple. dont wanna shell out the cash? then to bad, youll never get why people like them.

And this was how many years ago? 2? 4? 6?
There are only so many demographics, and without a good reason to buy one (their apparently superior media editing abilities or fitting in with your friends) it's a waste of money. And as I said, I game.Plus I'm not part of their two main customer demographics; rich hippies and heavy media editors
And most of the people I know that own a Mac aren't either.
I spend less than a couple hundred a year on my pc.(although I dabble in video editing on my pc, which fulfills my needs for it just fine - and with a freeware program to boot - Virtual Dub). Or you could sell your mac every year and just buy a new one for a couple of hundred dollars.![]()
Or you could build your own, but it's tough for a lot of people. Not quite as simple as the kits you basically buy for x86 based PCs.![]()
I hate the direction that the English language is going. We need a purge.Originally posted by: HermDogg

With no choice in brand name and while getting it in the rear on parts prices? No thanks. I didn't say I did it because it was ultra-difficult, which it of course isn't, but because I enjoy it.

Hey, it's true, we Mac users don't use the machines to game. Gaming on the Mac died the day Microsoft bought Bungie, it destroyed what was to be the catalyst that redefined everything.Originally posted by: ArmchairAthlete

EDIT: Oh yea, and I'm into building/upgrading/customizing so... yea.

Besides comics, I've seen a parody on the Apple "Switch" commercials. I should find a link, heh. Someone at work showed it to me so I might have to look a bit.
