no one ever has a "claim" to land, no land is inherently "theirs". land is only negotiated for or taken through force. why are the palestinians called "refugees"? they were living in the areas that the israelis are living now before they were kicked out.

to the palestinians deserve some land to live in even though they lost the war for their land? well, that's up to the negotiators, just as we have reservations for native americans to live exclusively in.

i think a lot of parallels could be drawn between the american pioneers vs. native americans and israelis vs. palestinians.
for native americans, only a few tribes were actually really violent and bloodthirsty, a majority of them just wanted to left in peace, but the violent ones were the ones that got the attention and caused many of the peaceful ones in the process to be wiped out.

If we want to talk about land rights then the native americans should get back all of the US. I got to agree with drewshin on this. Did the US annihilate a whole race of people and take over everything? Yes. Why don't you know ask the question 'Why is it we should allow a group who stole the land from the Native Americans xxx years ago continue to claim title?'. Perhaps it is you that is blind to the truth.

Having said that, these things are done. I love the US and am proud to be a citizen. Alot of things that happen in history are not just or fair, but that is the reality.

Alot of people are seeing the palestinians as an evil people but things are not so black and white. The US involvement here seems a bit biased, if you think the media coverage is fair on both sides, then you are mistaken. Until recent events, I never gave much thought to the stuff I hear/see/read in the media and always thought the israelis were losing people left and right. Only when i found out that the casulties are much greater on the palestinian side, did I realize that all I ever heard in the media was the reverse.

Sharon is doing what we are doing...defending a way of life....how many times has the U.S asked for restraint from Sharon while they continue to be terrorised by suicide bombers. If Afafat is too weak to make any kind of good on his word then to hell with him. He is all talk and no action.

How quickly people forget. Arafat called for the war. The PA were the very first to start shooting at Israelis. Just makes sense for The IDF to kill the PA. It is a war we should not tie the Israeli hands like we have been doing here in the US.

Makes me chuckle when HAMAS says they will stop suicide bombing if Israel calls off there attack. There goal is to push Israel into the sea. It is on there own website. Do not forget either that Arafats very own appointed Mufti has been calling for suicide attacks ever since the Arafat called for the war. so do not try telling me that Israelis are the ones who do not want peace. They elected a dove and it led them to Arafat calling for war. Now they elected someone who will protect them the only way possible. Killing the terrorist where they spawn from.
