the israeli officials are starting to piss me off.... it is becoming readily apparent that they don't want peace at all
all they want is to kick the palestinians out of 'their land'

it's one thing when palestinian extremists run around with bombs and blow themselves up
but it's totally a different issue when an idiot in such a high ranking position like sharon bombs the palestinian police just hours before a meeting between the two groups to try to resolve the situation

don't get me wrong, i have nothing against the israeli people as a whole, but the government is pissing me off like mad....
it was enough when they jumped the gun a few days ago and started bombing arafat and accusing him of the terrorist attacks without evidence
but this is just way too much... and i know in a way it's our fault, because sharon is a coward who would not have the balls to make such idiotic attacks unless he knew that the united states would be watching their backs.... i know that without us, israel will surely fall to the palestinians in the middle east, but sometimes i wish we would just back out of their issues and let the palestinians kick sharon's ass

well, do u really blame him? Israel has lost about .05% of it's population due to the last uprising. The US only lost .001% f it's population due to the wtc attack. we went and bombed the he!! out of a country that may or may not have been involved in the attack. How is this different than Israel wanting to protect herself?

but don't you agree that if they have decided to talk it over already, that it's logical for the israeli officials to just stop the bombings and let the proceedings go, if what they truly want is peace and to stop the bloodshed?

If I recall correctly the prime minister said if the Palestianians would cease fire for SEVEN 7 days the talks would continue. 4 days later the suicide bomber did his deed of the day. Yassar Arafat is now and has always been a terrorist, in fact he had to get a special deal from congress to allow him to speak to the United Nations a few years ago. This is because the US Goverment has branded him a terrorist. I hope they piss you off even more!!

Israel has a pretty good track record as fighting wars go.

Keep in mind they spend huge chunks of their budget on the military and men and women both fill their ranks.

And it's accepted by soldiers around the world (including me ) that the soldiers of the IDF are the best in the world, person for person...

Trust me, if the US just walked away and said "Do whatever the hell you want, Israel. I'm sick of you" it wouldn't be the Israeli state that gets the crap beaten out of it

Well, it would still be close. Israel *did* embarass Egypt, Syria, and co. in the 6-day war, the Sinai War, and the Independence War...all which predate heavy US aid. What's more, remember that the Arab states were backed by the Soviet Union...

They have not been harboring Bin Laden.

What REALLY pissed me off about this, the same people and journalists berating arafat for underminding the peace process by "allowing" terrorist to bomb isreal last week before the peace meeting are now SILENT when sharon does the exact same effing thing. This time, though, there is no question "who was behind it". :|

Are you kidding? I guess you have no clue whatsoever of the past 50 year history of the middle-east. Israel did kick the ass of countries such as Egypt, Syria, and Iraq... and this is when they were supported by the Soviets. Today the Israelis have an even bigger advantage.

Sharon is a geographical region in Israel, Ariel is a biblical MALE name. the fact that Americans turn every good name to unisex has nothing to do with the hebrew language or traditional hebrew names.
