What the hell!!!! (Serious win2k problem)

I recently did a format of my hard drive and reinstalled win2k. I had the network version of service pack 1 (an actual file) from when I downloaded it before (the internet install wasn't working for me). I decided to install the pack right after installing the OS, before going to windows update to pick up other updates (such as the critical updates or IE5.5). So, after installing the service pack, I go to windows update, install IE5.5, restart and install the critical updates. After the install, I get some message about having to insert the service pack cd so that certain files can be replaced with originals. First of all, I didn't think the service pack came out on a cd but only as an internet download or the network file I had. Next, I direct it to the file I had and it still can't find the pack. So, I say cancel and take my chances. Well, that was not a good thing to do. Now I can't even log into win2k on any account (not even admin). It says I can't login because it can't find the domain LAYZIE310 (my computer name). The win2k partition is NTFS so I can't access it through win98. Now what am I supposed to do!

Boot up from your Win2K CDROM and select the repair option. Hopefully that should change enough to let you get back in. If it asks you for the SP1 CD, point it to the extracted files, rather than the 1 great big sp1network.exe file.

I second the last thread. Perform the slipstream CD and burn yourself a nice win2k pro/sp1 combo CD. I just installed it and it worked perfectly.
