What the hell, my Q3 timedemo scores dropped after switching from vortex2 to a Fortissimo 2...why?!

Shouldn't the score have risen? I thought the vortex2 was supposed to be cpu-hungry (even with a3d off). What gives? It did only drop a few frames, but i was expecting it to have gained a few frames 😕
 
I saw in a recent Audigy 2 review, that the Vortex 2 hangs with all the current cards and even beats them in some games. The Vortex 2 was an awesome soundcard, too bad Aureal went under.
