What the hell just happened in buffy? Don't open if you haven't seen it yet.

I was watching buffy, without really paying attention, and next thing I see is buffy jumping off the building. Can anyone tell wtf happened?

Yea.. umm.. riiight. She jumped off, and died. Camera faded to black then faded back in and it was Buffy's toumbstone. After that it said "5 great years, Thank you." WTF?

Buffy got killed of the show. At this point in her career, Sarah
could be making a boatload more money making movies than sticking
to television.

As for the "thanks for five years thing"... this was Buffy's last
season on the WB, it moves to UPN next season. Since BTVS
essentially made the WB network a reasonable success, it's somewhat
fitting that the WB thank them.

BTW, quite a good episode IMHO. I sure as hell didn't see this
coming and appreciate the fact that they aren't going to make
Buffy's fate a cliffhanger for the next season.

I missed the last fifteen minutes. :| I heard spoilers last week that "someone will die - if you guess it's one person, guess bigger," so I assumed it would be Buffy.

Edit - Nevermind, Soulflare answered my question. Bummer that SMG is leaving, but I don't blame her.

It will be the same cast (minus Sarah), with the same writers,
produced by the same company, but it will appear on a different
network in the same time slot. 20th Century Fox owns and
produces Buffy, and when their existing deal with the WB ran out
and the show went up for bid, UPN was willing to pay more per
episode. I think the WB was offering 1.5 (million) per episode
while UPN offered 2.5, hence the decision to move.

buffy died. i got sad. i really home Michelle Trattenberg (Dawn) isnt going to be the next slayer, that would suck. Spike better come back, with Xander and the lesbian witches. my guess is somehow SMG is also going to return... however, the gravestone is rather final... blah. i dont know. im sorry to see buffy go off of WB simply because Angel cant carry that network by itself. Angel sucks.

Jesus Soulflare where do you get your info? LOL At least it will be the same cast. Two of my fav caracters are Spike and Jiles. I agree that I REALLY don't want to see Dawn as the role of slayer. I really don't care for her very much already. UPN dosen't suck THAT much. Better than WB IMO.

That was sad. I have watched Buffy from the very first episode. Why they would elect to kill her off is beyond me. But hey there is still a slayer available for duty. Remember Faith. I just wish they could have done it a different way. I don't think I have ever missed an episode.

Do a quick search for any of the many message boards on the net and you'll find many rumours as to how she will come back next season. And some interviews with Joss Whedon (the producer) that seem to indicate the same thing.

yup! that's true, i mean, didn't buffy die sometime in season 3 and there was another slayer who replaced her, but was killed off by faith or something? anyway, the tombstone is just there to 'scare' us that SMG isn't coming back...

SMG has two years left on her contract(exactly the amount of time the UPN contract has). She did say if Buffy left WB she wouldn't return, but she will be losing alot of money if she didn't...

She will be back, and if shes not, shes going to be taken to court for breech of contract.

And as for raking in the dough in movies?

You've got to be kidding me, shes not that good of actress, all the movies shes in have, umm sucked, not only that but have bombed at the box office for the most part...

Maybe she could go back to All My Children, Im sure they could write her back in...

Also, Buffy is not what made the WB. It barely is in the top 5 rated shows on WB...

7th Heaven, Charmed are number 1 and 2, I forgot number 3, and Buffy is 4 or 5, it avg's a 2.5 which is ummm why its on UPN, and not on the big 4 next year.

Shes good looking but that is it...
