What the hell is wrong with Toronto Raptors?

They can't even beat an AI-less 6er's! Mo pete is suckin' it up this year. Antonio Davis is too! Bosh is developing but we can't pin all our hopes on a rookie can we? The only guy showing up is VC.

First off they have a player that goes by Mo Pete.

they're canadian? 😛

That's it. Because of the exchange rate, they have to score 35% more points than any other team, just to stay even. Canadian points just aren't worth as much.

I can't talk much though. The Orlando (not-so) Magic are worse. 1-10. What a disgrace!

It's becasue their court colours do not match thier uniform colours. Purple floor - red jerseys. Clash! So they can't work. yeah...

The story here in the local media is that Doc Rivers and John Gabriel (GM) disagreed about Grant Hill. Hill has been sitting on the bench, making millions, for about 3 years now. He has a seemingly never-ending ankle injury. Each time he tries to come back, he gets hurt again. He has only played in a handful of games since we signed him as a free agent from Detroit. Hill is a very nice guy, but he is rarely able to play.

It seems Rivers is kinda tired of having this millionaire taking up cap room to sit on the bench. Unfortunately, Hill and Rich DeVoss (owner and pres of Amway) are good friends. That's why Hill came here in the first place. After the Penny Hardaway and Shaq fiascos, The magic wanted a nicer, more family freindly team with a cleaner image than millionaires who just expect a paycheck, which is what most of the complaints back then centered on. Now Hill has become one of those.

Anyway, Gabriel sided with DeVos (wisely for his careers sake I suppose) and Rivers is now history. Has anyone ever heard of this Johnny Davis, former ass't who got the job as head coach. Shoot, he was an asst right here in Orlando and no one here has ever heard of him! LOL

Could you imagine the Raptors if VC and McGrady would've been able to co-exist?

They also need to get some big men. Bosh will be a good player but A. Davis isn't a center. I like Alvin Williams but I don't think he's a starting point guard.

The Magic have basically the same problem. T-Mac is the only one showing up. They score 100 points and T-Mac has 50 of them. Seems like every night. He is half of the offense. What's up with that.

That's mostly right. Except that Grant Hill was part of a sign and trade deal, not a free agent signing. That's how we got Ben Wallace.

Sorry, but I don't know much about the Raptors. Who is the point guard? Mo Pete should still be solid.

I stand corrected. Sorry about that. I forgot about that ..... tried to put Grant Hill out of my mind. He doesn't exist to us! Don't get me wrong. I like the guy personally. As I said in my first post, he is a really nice, polite guy, or at least he appears to be (remember what we all thought of Kobe). I just wish he could play.

Wasn't he going to leave Detroit anyway, so it was a sign and trade deal or Detroit would have lost him anyway? Is that right, or has my old brain blocked out too much of Mr. Hill?

Grant is a really good guy. He's a good all around player. With his ball handling, passing, rebounding and scoring ability, he would've had a great career. Except for that damn injury.

But I don't think he made too many friends in Detroit when he left. I think a lot of people (I know that I) wanted him to be our franchise player. I know that a lot of my friends hate him now and get a lot of enjoyment on him only playing 30 games or so in the past 4 years.

He said he didn't want to play on our team. He wanted to go to a "better" team -- Detroit was the 8th seed in the playoffs his last year in Detroit. So who did he go to? Orlando. And how did Orlando finish his first year there? If my memory is correct, they finished with the 8th seed. I'm not sure what triggered the sign and trade as opposed to a free agent signing. I can't remember if there were contractual restraints or maybe it wasn't free agent season. But all's I know is that trade signified the start of something special in Detroit (not coincidentally, that is around the time when Dumars showed up). And unfortunately for Orlando, everything has been mediocre at best. McGrady and Hill would be an amazing duo. But it never happened. He says next year is his last attempt. I hope everything works out for him.

Anyone else hear today that the raptors are working on a deal with the bulls that would aquire Jalen Rose for someone?

Was on the radio here in chicago.

Please, TAKE him. 🙂
