What the hell is wrong with purple?

About a year ago I designed my very first website (WQMC radio) for my school's radio station.. It's a pretty poorly done site, I admit it, but I STILL get slack about the color scheme! Why does everyone hate purple? I actually love the color on certain things but everyone seems to hate it.. I purposely avoiding using the color on my personal site because of the slack I got about it in the past- is purple really that ugly?

no, its the contrast between the dark bluish background to the bright green and blue

Ah. Well when you said the color scheme I assumed the whole page was going to be varying shades of purple... kinda like BestBuy.

Works for me. I dont see what people's problem is. Someone isnt too comfortable with their sexuality....

it looks like right half is in color and the other half is in b/w. i don't know why people fixate on the purple. perhaps they use macs.

I don't have a problem with purple myself. The logo looks good to me, so I don't know why people are jumping up your ass about it...
