What the hell is UPS Basic? Does it mean it can sit on the truck for 3 days?

So UPS lost the first package that was sent to my dad 2 weeks ago, the company apologized and sent another one...

This one has been sitting on the truck for delivery since the 11th (link to tracking)

My dad called this morning and was told it was probably lost again.

I called a few mins ago and was told UPS Basic for this package guarantees it will arrive on the 13th, so its probably just been sitting on the truck for a few days. She said give it till tonight...

WTF? I've never even heard of UPS Basic, what is it, like USPS Media Mail?
 
Heh, I live in Coral Springs.

I've been waiting for a package from fedex.. should've been here already, they usually deliver before 11:30am. Must be busy, it was on the truck for delivery yesterday and went back because it 'wasn't due for delivery.'

A friend of mine ordered something and used the free ups shipping and it took almost two weeks for the package to arrive.
Another friend of mine, ALWAYS gets the most expensive shipping, and usually ends up paying more than retail because of it. He's not very good with his money.
 
Its official and confirmed by UPS, the package is lost.... again.....
