What the hell is up with Intel

RU482

Since November, there have been reoccurring sweet deals on 80GB (and larger at times) 2.5" SSDs. Todays daily deal is $69.99 After Rebate. What is driving these deals of late??

Coming from a different sphere, why oh why can't they offer these prices on mSATA or 1.8" drives? Or hey, sell the 40GB model for $50!

My company would buy (literally) thousands at this price!! Meanwhile, we spend our money with Micron and Sandisk

New releases on the way, massive production capacity, existing stock.
While the 320 is probably 1 of the top 3 drives out today (Intel 510, 320 and Samsung 830 in my book), it is normally priced a little high considering how much better the modestly priced 830 or Crucial M4s are.

No ones going to regret buying them, I've been using essentially the same drive (G2s) for ~4 years now and still don't feel envy on the new drives (other than larger capacity than my 160GB).

I own two Intel 320 160GB but i'm surprised to see prices haven't fallen that much since i bought them. Especially so with the M4 being bargaintastic right now. I suppose there's more competition among the smaller capacity drives but the 320 160GB must be losing out to the M4 240GB big time right now.
