what the hell is train spotting all about? (not the film)

was coming home from loughborough today, and at the station a group of nerdy lookin guys were all huddled near the stairs.

they wrote down the number of every train that passed, and the time. what the hell do they do with that?

They send the information to al-Qaeda...

They are terrorists, call the FBI, have them arrested, get them blacklisted to all LAN parties (since you said they were nerds) and have at least one of them post on ATOT so we can have a flame fest of free right speech

lol that was where my dad was born, and he had a trainspotting phase, i am embarressed to admit..

Seems utterly pointless to me too. But hey, so is neffing at OT 🙁

ah yes i can maybes see a point for historic trains

we have a natinal railway museum in york, and they actually run on normal track some of the old steam powered classics like the flying scotsman. id imagine if you were into trains you'd wanna see these beauts in action

(jus like i liked seeing a mint condition yellow porsche speedster on the M1 today)

but they write down normal train numbers....these trains are jus arent special at all. boxes with lights
