Reminds me I was driving the 1990 Eagle Talon TSi AWD, and directly after I shifted into fourth I heard "CLANK POW!" And could have sworn I saw something fly off. I think it was the lower timing belt cover, but I'm pretty sure i never had one.

It looks like a sprocket for a chain. Might've picked up some road debris, or that'd be half of a double chain assembly (meaning the other half is soon to follow)

Uhh.. LOL

Kinda looks like a starter gear, but I think it's too thin for that.

Can you start your car? :p

does the car still run? Hopefully you just ran over that thing, doesn't really look like part of an engine to me and I doubt part of your tranny fell out.

Can you add something to the picture for a size reference? It's hard to tell where it's from unless we know the size (we already determined is a sprocket gear).

I can't imagine a circular part like that just "falling" off your car unless you have major issues with other parts coming apart.

It's probably not from your car.

that doesnt look like a bike chain ring, it doesnt have the standard 4 or 5 bolt pattern and the teeth on it are too big and flat on the top

It's not a chain gear. The teeth are too small.

But yeah, we really need a size reference. Stick a quarter somewhere in the frame or something.

Maybe a window motor gear?

It could be part of an ABS speed sensor, but whatever it is , it's probably not from your car. You probably just kicked it up with your tire.

If I was to take a guess I would say it one of the rear ABS sensor rings.

Do you have a yellow/amber ABS light on now?
