seriously, a cordless mouse on USB is about as redundant as technology can get. now i have to worry about batteries, transmitters, blah blah blah. corded on PS/2 FTW.

Yeah, I don't see myself getting a cordless mouse for a long time.

Plus, I don't think there are really any good cordless gaming mice.

I change batteries once every 6 months... and signal has never been a problem. it's just more convenient. corded mice sometimes you worry aobut the cord snagging on somthing, plus it's unsightly. and for people w/ unorthodox setups, having corded peripherals isn't realistic

Being able to sit on my couch and control my media a room away without wires would be a good start.

Corded only with FPS games, cordless is wonderful on my laptop (I actually just changed the battery 5 minutes ago) it's no big deal really. My cheapo rechargeable AA's power the mice for a good month.

Bluetooth mice with rechargeable batteries (preferably Li-Ion and a charging station) ftw.

It's really nice to move the mouse and not have interference from the wire getting caught on something...

I don't like the cord? worry about batteries? My Microsoft mouse has had 1 battery change in the past 8 months. My logitech has a cradle. I hate having the cord get in the way of things. I always have to tape it too so it's not pulling on the mouse.

Why do people think that corded mice (mouses?) are better for gaming? I can't see the disadvantage of my wonderful cordless mouse. It has a docking bay so I don't have to worry about batteries, I just dock it when I go to bed. It lasts over a week without docking so it's no big deal if I forget.

the cordes on corded mice are never long enough

ive been useing the Logitech G7 for over a year and its great its a "gaming" mouse and ive never had an issue with it in any FPS, its comes with 2 rechargable bats (li-Ion) and a charging station that connects via USB, prob the best mouse ive ever used

The G7 is a great cordless mouse, no lag that others suffer from and it has 2 battery packs.

I love my cordless notebook mouse. I love how the receiver plugs into the bottom of the mouse so I don't lose it. I love how I can plug the receiver into any usb plug on my laptop and use the mouse on my pant leg, chair armrest, clear area on notebook next to the keyboard, how I don't have to deal with untangling the cord every time I take it out of my bag, or how I haven't changed batteries in the 2 years I've had it.

I have a wired mouse and a remote for the computer at home, but before I had the remote, I'd plug the notebook receiver into my main computer so I can use my monitor as a TV while I watched tv shows from my bed.

Main point of a cordless mouse? So I don't have to deal with cords. My friends who use cordless on their main computer get the ones with a charging base cradle, so they don't worry about batteries.

EDIT: How is the marketplace dominated with cordless mice anyway? I would think there are more corded mice shipped then cordless merely because of price. Dn't like it? Don't buy it. They wouldn't make it if nobody bought em.

Corded dpi > cordless dpi.

my cordless will do 2000 DPI, my bros corded razor does 2000 DPI

2000=2000

I bought the MS wireless optical for $12 - couldn't pass it up. But since I play WoW I use it constantly per session and the rechargeable batteries need to be replaced after 1-2 weeks. I didn't find it to be a problem with accuracy at all, BTW, even for FPS games.

At any rate, because of the battery thing, I've gone back to a corded optical. As for advantages of a cordless, just the fact that it snags around my phone and monitor (I have 2 mice - one for this laptop next to the LCD)... it gets problematic. It's simple freedom, really. I've also used it to click and play files while I lay back on my recliner in the room. (This is where you get your mind out of the gutter.)

Now a wireless keyboard, that would be bliss... the damned thing doesn't extend too far out as the cable goes to the back of the desk then down and back toward where my feet / tower are. They don't make wireless keyboards just by themselves now, do they... if I switched, I'd like to keep my original mouse.

i use a laptop at home and in the field for work and like to use as few wires as necessary since i move my laptop around alot.

i liked it with a dekstop, as well, the cords are never long enough or tend to get caught on things. changing a battery once every few months is hardly a big deal.
