My girlfriend was watching the Mole (not bad for "reality" TV, btw, which generally I hate) and I saw this car. It's marketed as a citycar across Europe and some areas of Asia (Japan), but I don't know what the big deal is.

Anyone?

Compact cars sell really well in Europe because of the petrol prices. I couldn't imagine driving that thing on one of our expressways....let alone the Autobahn!

It's fuel efficient- good for those high gas prices.
It's small and doesn't take up much parking spaces- good for crowded cities.
That's about it. I'd probably get one if I still lived in Germany.

Since it's so small and light, I wonder how it actually does power-wise? Is it like a modern Le Car (god, hated those things)? :p

Edit: What is a bhp?

I actually like the "Smart Car". Sure, the HP might not be good, but if I lived in Europe, I'd probably get one. :)

<< bhp=Brake HorsePower >>

LOL Meaning ?

No it's actually British Horse Power. Probably British horses are different like everything else is a little bit different in the UK. ;)

In Japan they have these things called K (kei) cars. They are light weight cars that I believe are limited to 660cc. They are smaller that Geo metros but they are pretty damn cool. I've seen some twin turbo 4wd version and these things are real rice rockets. My friend drove me around in his Subaru twin turbo 4wd K once and it had a nice interior, full leather, beautiful dash, got good mileage and was unbelievably fast. The only drawback is I wouldn't want to get into an accident in one of those deathtraps.
