What the hell is happening to my latency?!

I did a fresh format several weeks ago and right after, accidently opened an email virus. The first in 8 years of computer usage. It was a warm called I.Netsky, which created thousands of duplicates on my disk and brought my latency down to its knees. I used AVG to get rid of it and my latency went back to normal for a week. Now it's back - not the warm, but the latency issue! It goes from 50-1000ms both with and without firewall/router, and the other network machine doesn't have that problem so its software-related on this machine. AVG and Norton with latest definitions found nothing. What the hell do i do?!

well you recently did a fresh format, so maybe you could do another while it's still fresh and be sure youre rid of the problem.
