What the hell is going on?

My cooling was at 38c idle for my HD3850 256MB and now its idling at 65c... it doesnt make any sense...

i just got this card about 3 days ago installed without a hitch..

have u been monitoring the temps? (u should always be doing that)

shutdown ur pc and take a look at ur card, make sure its getting enough airflow and nothing blocking it

also check the fan speeds. did u install any program that could change its fan speed? or its clock speeds?

the fan is spinning really slow, but it was before too i have been monitoring it hit 70c almost @ FULL load, but now its basically idling at 64c.. before it was idling 40-55c.

hmm, doesnt seem extremely hot but it seems hot enough.. i heard visiontek fans dont spin fast anyways.... ionno, cards brand new, no artifacting or anything... seems fine.

Load ATI tool and scan for artifacts to see if you are truly fine. check temps while the test is going on, it will tax the card enough to see if you truly are stable.

Ok, i might have figured it out.. the fan was barely spining even when the games were running.. i used Rivatuner and put the fan upto 75% now my idle is 36c, havnt checked loads.. is it bad to run your fan at 75-100%?

Nothing wrong with running fans at full speed (aside from your ears not liking it perhaps).

Ok, another problem... I installed CS 1.6 runs 100fps! but.. every 2-3 secounds it will like stop my guy running then run fine, then stop then run fine?!! and I installed S.T.A.L.K.E.R the openning video cuts up like it has no vsync and then when im in-game it plays fine for 5 secounds then does the CS 1.6 thing... kind of plays for a secound then stops then plays then stops?! wtf...

no artifacting, running 40c load... doesnt make sense

UPDATE: With window open (20F in my room)

MY CPU and GPU are now running 24c/25c idle HAHA that's crazy!
