Apparently he wants me to come in on my day off, to have this "come to jesus meeting"

Has he gotten wierd? Does he think he's god? Am I going to die? Should I call the cops, prior to going to this meeting? 😕

Maybe he hired a new mexican and is introducing him?

A "Come to Jesus" meeting is basically where your boss sits you down and tells you in no uncertain terms that you are screwing up and you better get your act together or your gonna end up losing your job.....in otherwords you better step up and see the light, and the error of your ways or you'll be seeing the door on your way out.
On the bright side, if you're an hourly employee coming in on your day off, you get paid for the meeting. And if doesn't go well and you do lose your job, that just means you'll have more time to visit here at ATOT and raise your post count.

I've never come to Jesus before.

Shiva. Aphrodite. Isis. One time to Ganesh.

But never Jesus.
Ganesh's trunk is kinda sexy, huh?

But Shiva is more male than female. Shemale.

Tell him thanks but no thanks.

There is NO WAY in hell he can legally make you come or penalize you if you DON'T show up.

Depends on your SOP. If a company gives him proper notice to come in on his day off and pays appropriately, he has to show up.

QUIT NOW!!!!!
Yeah...kinda what I was thinking. I sense this is going to be an uncomfortable meeting. I like intense sh!t, so I am going to the meeting. If I get launched, so be it. I have a feeling this has more to do with the state of the company, than about me. 🙂
It's management slang for a shape-up or ship-out meeting. He's going to come down hard on the group about problems they've been having lately.

Yup, you're about to get your ass handed to you. Better not to attend, and just quit now while you can avoid the verbal assault. 😉

if he is giving him a chance to come in and talk about it, that means he wants to keep him and just change his ways.

So how many other people are attending the meeting? Is it just you? Maybie he just wants to bitch out your whole department instead of singling you out.

Do you work for the post office and is your boss known to collect military style firearms? If so, I'd risk missing it.
