What the hell...I start my computer under Win2K and the explorer.exe eats 100% of the CPU?

What the hell is this?
I start Windows 2000 and Explorer.exe and crss.exe combined eating up 100% of the CPU, thus rendering everything else uselss. In Safe Mode, everything is fine. I am in Win98 now and everything works! What the hell is going on? This started happening last night - I haven't done anything since then.

After sitting around a while, does it say some original files had been modified, insert the Win2K CD?

huh, that is strange.... some processes, during bootup, before the desktop appears, take up 100% of the CPU power, but it quickly goes down.... maybe you should try reinstalling 2k?
