If the ‘ice cream’ you eat contains carrageenan, guar gum, etc, etc it is not ice cream.

Milk, cream, eggs, sugar, flavorings, fruit makes ice cream.

Vanilla > all

Gosh, I have a 1/2 gallon container of Trader Joe's Old Fashion Vanilla in the freezer, must be close to 18 months now. It's about 1/2 full. When I think about it (it happens once in a while), I imagine the voluminous ice crystals that have inevitably formed and wonder what would happen if I pulled the top off. Somehow I have not been motivated to find out. :)

Baskin Robbins is rolling out Blueberry Muffin ice cream for the March flavor-of-the-month.
Think I'll stop in and see what's up with that.
Muffin flavored ice cream with blueberry pieces and a blueberry ribbon.

(I don't do chocolate.)

Breyers is available pretty much everywhere, has all the basic flavors, and most have 7 or less ingredients. Vanilla for example has 5 ingredients.

I saw a new flavour at a local ice cream company:

Unicorn Toots
Purple vanilla butter cake base, a pink marshmallow ribbon and rainbow chocolate pieces.

:D

We've moved onto making our own ice cream! Using the Salt and Straw base recipe, and going buckwild with customization. Using a Cuisinart machine. Just need to pop the coolant filled bowls in the freezer for ~24hrs, make the base, let that mellow for about 12hrs to develop more texture/flavor, spin it for 20 minutes in the machine then several hours to harden. Amazing.

I still get irrationally angry thinking about the OP in this thread.

I've been working on a 1/2 gallon of Trader Joe's French Vanilla for must be a couple years now. It's down to about 35-40%. :D I allow myself 0.85 ounce when the notion hits.

Have I mentioned putting ouzo on ice cream yet? If not, that's your pro tip for the day. Big thanks to @Iron Woode for the idea of licorice ice cream :^)
Shaws now has flavours like grape and lemon ice cream.

As well as pumpkin and licorice.

Anise icecream? *gag*

I just don't understand black licorice at all, especially that Nordic thing of coating it in salt and calling it candy. Just, no.

Think I prefer gelato, but I wouldn't turn down a good Ben&Jerry's. Still bummed they discontinued Dublin Mudslide, probably the best single flavor I've ever tried. I'd be 30+lbs heavier if it was still available though, so probably a good thing.

Salty licorice is great. I wish I could buy it locally. Have to get it from amazon at a beefy markup.

I remember when Breyer's was 100% natural.

It's been quite awhile since that was the case sadly.

Yep, the switch from 'ice cream' to 'frozen dessert' still amazes me. Ice cream that won't even melt? GTFOH

Not just Breyers either... For shame Haagen Dazs!

I keep thinking of old school SNL's Shimmer. It's a dessert topping, it's a floor wax, it's the best shine you've ever tasted. Could Breyer's double as idk, bathroom tile grout?

Lately each week I buy a pint of Ben and Jerry's Americone Dream and one Salted Caramel Core and eat them both before the next week's grocery run. In one sitting each. It's fantastic.
