Sleep plays music for a certain time, snooze delays the alarm for another 9 minutes.

Sleep turns the radio off after a set number of minutes, or a set time.

Snooze turns off the alarm temporarily, only for it to go off again a few minutes later.

I just wish I could find another alarm like my wife's old Sony one.

You could hammer the snooze button three or four times and get a solid half hour before it went off again.

How long is the sleep button supposed to last? I know snooze is 9 minutes, but it seems like sleep just goes on forever. I've woken up like an hour later with the radio still playing...and I can't find a way to turn it off.

On some alarms it plays until you hit the sleep button again.

Not mine. :(

The sleep button is the same size as the "time" and "alarm" buttons and whenever I try to change my alarm time in the middle of the night I sometimes accidentally hit the sleep button and it goes off and I can't do anything about it. I hit every button and nothing happens...so I end up just turning the volume all the way down. Which screws me over anyway because I can't hear the alarm the next morning. Man my clock sucks. Im just gonna get a new one.

Most I've see, the SLeep button counts down as you hold it down. WHen it gets to the number of minutes you want it to play for you just let go and you're done.

Snooze time delay depend son the specific model. anywhere from 5-10 minutes is normal. Most do 9 I think. SOmething from when clocks weren'd digital and 9 minutes was easier for normal clocks because of the gears or something.

Why 9 minutes?

On mine the sleep and snooze do the usual thing, but you can set the time interval for either one to whatever you want. I assumed they were all that way now...

snooze ftw.

what's with 9 minutes, though? :confused: the snooze on my alarm clock can be set for however long I want it.

I've currently got it set for 12 minutes...

X:00 -> alarm A goes off
snooze
X:12 -> alarm A goes off again
snooze
X:20 -> alarm B goes off

A being set to radio for a gradual awakening, while B is set to loud, annoying beeping mode to make sure I get my *** up and X:00 starting at 2 hours before I have to be at work.

I've got the sony alarm clock too. You can hit the snooze up to 6 times for additional 10 minutes each time. This explains why I am often late to places. You may say "why even have an alarm clock in the first place, then?!" to which I say, hey, at least I was there at all :)
