http://www.androidpolice.com/2014/0...ow-end-tablets-you-probably-wont-want-to-use/

These three devices are all packed in the same general size range. The 90 Neon has a 9-inch 800x480 screen, which will probably look fairly awful. The 97 Neon is a 9.7-inch device, but it's up at 1024x768 and has a 4:3 aspect ratio – it looks a lot like an older iPad. The 101 Neon is the biggest at 10.1-inches and packs a substandard 1024x600 resolution LCD.

I've always said the screen isn't the only feature of a tablet to look at, but yeesh. Did they get the panels for these just given to them for free? Leftovers from some one's warehouse?

These devices all have a quad-core Cortex-A9 ARM chip of unidentified make clocked at 1.4GHz and 1GB of RAM.

Also, this goes for all OEMs, list your SoC on the spec sheet. Don't hide it.

Is it possible these aren't intended for the US? Otherwise I don't know what they're thinking

Such a shame. They used to make good stuff. My first mp3 player was an xs200, which was awesome for the time period and built like a tank. These products just confuse me. I agree that these can't be intended for any large markets.

Archos has NEVER made top of the line units. They are cheap crap for folks who cant afford better.

I got one tablet just to play around with. It had a freakin resistive touch screen, no access to google's app store, and a processor so slow I actually played with my phone while waiting for it to load apps.

I dont even know why you middle class Americans would look at those things. They really arent for you.

Let's be honest. When was the last time Archos actually came out with anything compelling?

Archos has always made really low-end Android tablets and PMPs. They're never really competitive on specs, but they're a good low-cost option.

I would imagine that they managed to get their hands on some dirt cheap left-over parts that no one else wants and that these products are going to have a similar low price for consumers.
