It's goin on mysecond week of college and I am continuously noticing more and more people walking around w/ Ipods. Out of the every 10 people i see a day, at least 2 must be listening to one of these things. What the heck is going on?
 
lol, my university (Cal state long beach) is filled with ipod students. It's a trend I guess, you can't go wrong to be honest.

there's a lot of schools giving them out... some for referring other students, and some seemingly just for the hell of it. maybe they think that if everyone has one, no one will steal one another's
 
Ya they're everywhere. The other day my GF was looking at a 20GB Ipod Photo... she's got like 20 MEGS of mp3s. I was like "WTF?!"
 
i got my ipod way before the trend (like seriously not last march but the one before). Im getting nervous cause its out of warranty.
 
It would bug me if a saw kids using them in class and not paying attention. But as far as every one having one, I'm not really surprised. They are getting cheaper and it's a very good way of carrying around your music. When the Walkman became affordable every one had it.

Been thinking of selling/trading my PSP for an iPod to use with my PC. pretty much all I use the PSP for is music anyway.

No games have caught my eye and watching movies in cars either makes me a bit sick or I get a head ache. so it's not really that useful to me for trips.

Same thing in San Fran...stupid people with iPods. I prefer the Zen Micro.

The iPods may be nice...but iTunes is a load of sh!t

Duke gave them to all incoming freshman last year. They'll give them to students who take an "Ipod class" this year, or so I've read...

Yeah, I don't get it. I listen to music sometimes as I game. I don't need constant music to make walking less boring. I can easily entertain myself.

teh smartphone>all mp3 players. Having the ability to watch a TVshow/movie/listen to music/kinda surf the web/check e-mail/play doom/play other games like nes games/a device to get laptop online/phone pwns all other devices (PDAs excluded). Personally I don't like having to bring another "device" with me, especially one that ONLY plays fvcking music. I'm waiting at the DMV, so ya know what I do? I just take out my phone and either listen to my music or watch a movie/TV show.
It's just makes so much more sense, sure I don't have nearly as much space as the IPOD 20GB or 5GB but it's sufficient and if I'm sick of a song, I'll just remove and replace with something else on my computer when I get home.

I paid about $70 on ebay for the memory card which IMO was EXTREMELY worth it, probably one of my wisest purchases to date!
