I remember seeing a made for television movie years ago, that was about the spartans and had lots of cool battle scenes in it. But I really can't recall a title or any actors in it.

It came to mind because I just found a 1967 film called 300 spartans where a small group of Spartans make a stand in a narrow mountain pass saving Greece from being overrun by the Persians (Xerxes). This movie was ok but I remember the other one having much better acting and battle scenes.

If only I could remember what the heck it was called. My first thought was Sparticus so I rented it and that wasn't it.

So here is a good trivia question to stump you what made for television movie was that?

speaking of the spartans and the battle of thermopylai (spelling?)

the book "Gates of Fire" by some author's name you can look up was utterly fantastic.

Stephen Pressfield wrote it. One of the best books I have read in years and it is begging to be made into a movie. (it's in the works)
