What the heck is wrong with the shadows in LOTR:BFME2?

For some reason, the shadows in the game look TERRIBLE when set to the highest quality. If you bump down the shadow setting, things look ok but they aren't real-time anymore. Here's some examples so you can see what I'm talking about:

I'm using a 7800GT with 81.98 drivers if that matters. Anyone else have this issue?

The game was made by EA.... Doesn't even support widescreen... This doesn't surprise me. You are expecting to much from this. And FYI, it looks like that on my rig too.

I've seen that too. 7800GT CO w/81.98 also. What about the original BFME 1? Same graphics engine. Might want to try that to see if its the game and not the drivers/card. My money is on the game. Generals Zero Hour had an issue with 6800 series cards for a while too. I believe it was fixed by the 81.98 drivers.

Yep, alot of people with high-end hardware are really complaining about this. The funny thing is (I'm a big member, 3000+ posts, on a site called Middle Earth Vault, and EA's "Community Manager", Apoc, posts there ocassionally) Apoc said they would be fixed in the final release, after people such as I complained about them in the beta which came out 12/20 or so of last year. Typical EA bull, you should never trust them.
