What the heck is up with shipping companies lately?

Honestly this is ridiculous. I'm starring outside at the USPS driver and thinking he's getting the package ready to go but nope he's writing a "Sorry we missed you slip" apparently it's too much work to go to the door, ring the door bell and actually deliver it. UPS just randomly leaves stuff in front of my door - seriously the only solid shipper left is Fedex...[/rant]

Thats what I thought until it took a package three days to go from monterey, ca to make it to Sacramento, ca.

fedex has jumped the shark as well. The prices at the Kinko's counter are out of hand. Not long ago I was shipping a processor, and I walked out when they said it was going to be almost $10, not even with the signature option. USPS was $4.05.

I dont complaint about fee increase because the gas is expensive

but the service, like op said, is CRAP

usps, ups, fedex, all deliver like crap

It depends. Both the UPS and USPS drivers (this guy was our old mailman) know me/my family and we have no problems with deliveries. I usually don't get too many Fedex packages so I wouldn't recognize that driver like the other 2.

My mail carrier is a lazy POS too. He's actually stopped at the top of my driveway and just honked his horn waiting for somebody to walk out to his vehicle.

Our FedX and UPS guys are cool though.

I had a FedEx delivery man leave a LCD monitor on the back porch of my apartment, which is in full view of the rest of the aparment complex instead of leaving it up at the front desk of the apt complex. Thank goodness no one took it. Sometimes you've gotta wonder about people's senses.

UPS is horrble.

****** USPS.

Love Fedex.

In my area it's the opposite. Fedex has delivered several packages to me that look like they jumped up and down on them a few times. They also keep dropping things in the vestibute of my building without leaving a notice, even after telling them not to.

In practice, it depends more on your local delivery people.

Poor DHL...no one even mentions them, and they have all those ambitious commercials...

I'll mention them...I got a Dell 2407 last week and knew it was on the DHL truck for delivery. I'm on my rear deck and the DHL guy goes driving buy as if he had just left my house. I go inside and there is no package and no missed delivery slip. A minute later my neighbor from THREE HOUSES DOWN comes with my 24" monitor. He had to sign for it! He must have known that if he told the DHL driver that he had the wrong address, the package would just go back to the warehouse. The delivery address on the box was correct. I'm glad I have good, honest neighbors! DHL sucks big donkey dorks!!!

all big 3 delivery companies does the same to me

i don't leave a note because it's a valuable package, they leave it in front of my apartment door
i leave a note for all of them, they leave a package and rip the note out and when the second guy comes in he leaves a note saying it cannot be delivered.... hello??!?

it's a conspiracy to piss me off

Three houses down?

A couple years back, my friend ordered something that was shipped from DHL, and they dropped it off three STREETS down (same house #, though 😛).

Another time, a different friend ordered a CPU from Fry's, and DHL dropped it off about a block too far. Instead of dropping it off at his house, they dropped it off at the high school that he lives by. It was a good thing one of the secretaries was there to take the package before a student could walk off with it.

All I know is our DHL asshat literally rolled a HP4250 out of the back of his truck onto the street and then kicked it with his leg into the door.

The lower tray was tacoed.

DHL hires low-lifes. and they all play soccer with your goods. "fragile" and "LIVE animals" get extra attention

When it took an extra two days to get a package through USPS, I was told by my regular delivery person that when the normal route person is out sick, the replacement carrier doesn't deliver packages! WTF!

Our lazy USPS fvckface doesn't even lock our apt mailboxes after he's delivered the mail.

Makes me wonder what does it take to be gainfully employed with the USPS...cause they certainly aren't the sharpest, or friendliest bunch of fvcktards.

it depends on the driver, the UPS guy that delivers to me is awesome, he comes after 5:20pm, so i have time to get home after work and get the package.

DHL sucks too a year ago when I lived in a gated community they called me to come pick a package up (A huge one - it was a 2405fpw with a Thermaltake Kandalf in the same box with some other stuff; it weighed like 120lbs and measured at least 36" on each side) from their warehouse. Apparently they didn't have the gate code to get in and they couldn't just leave it at the office or ask the people at the office to get it. I called them up and they redelivered the next day luckily for me. UPS has left several valuable items = $300 camera, Video Ipods in front of my college apt door. While I like that at my parents' house in the suburbs, the logic behind leaving something like that in a college apartment complex is beyond me.

I didn't know that outpost.com uses only DHL for delivery, else I never would have ordered from there, but I did. First, my apartment number didn't make it to the shipping label. I called various numbers to give them the apartment information, which they stated was sent to the driver. After being 3 days late on delivery, the first attempt was not made, because no one was at the office--I was home, but my apartment's office was closed. The second day, I get back from a meeting at work, and the package is sitting on my doorstep. I live in an apartment complex with a bunch of college students. No one signed for the package, unless somehow the plants signed for the $600 package.

Ugh, never again. Just the fact that outpost.com uses DHL for delivery will keep me from going there ever again.

The majority of my experiences with USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL have been positive. I feel no need to rant at any of them.
