What the heck is up with Parallels 4?

Font issue, I'd say.

It's looking for something, probably from within your fonts folder, not finding it, and it's substituting something bad in. Have you trimmed your osx base fonts?
 
Yep, you were right. It was Silk messing up Parallels. Turned it off and it works fine, thanks!
