What the heck is up with NewEgg?

I buy computer-related stuff from NewEgg about every six months or so. Recently, I changed Internet Service Providers and yesterday I went onto their website, logged in, and updated my account to reflect that change. Now, I realize that the NewEgg ID is my email address, which is fine, but now I cannot log into their website as of this morning.

I even tried the 'forgotten password' tool that you stick your home telephone number in (which has been the same the past five years) and it says there are no accounts associated with that number. Huh? So, I patiently wait until Noon (eastern) in which case they've been open for a couple of hours on the west coast.

First call attempt gets a busy signal--no problem, its Monday and everyone wants their material satisfaction. Me, too. 😀 I give it another half hour and call again. I get into their telephone queue and wait, then it goes silent and I get disconnected. I call back to a busy signal again.

Hey NewEgg, I'm trying to spend money on you and you are not wanting to do business. WTH? Worse yet, I sent them an email this morning before they opened and have not yet gotten a response to my account be down for some odd reason.

Anyone else know where I can buy a Highpoint RocketRAID 454 for $90+S&H with a trusted business?

just make a new one. an "account" with them is just a way to order, it doesn't matter if you have more than one

make a new one

Did you try using both your e-mail addresses as logins?

Yes, I did.

FoBoT, and what if it doesn't permit another account based on address, email address, credit card information, etc.?

it does. dont worry.

It will allow it, there's no point in being bothered trying to reclaim an old account. If you really want email their tech/site people, or get ahold of them on the phone, easiest is when they just open in the morning, otherwise just do what FoBot said and make a new one.

I did email, and I did call them.

How is ZipZoomFly and Chief Value?

I've only purchased from CV once and will not again. I planned to ship a CPU overnight (paid for rush shipping and overnight shipping) and it ended up taking more than a week, even though the CPU ship time said immediately. And they wouldn't refund any of my money.

Unacceptable. 🙁

ZipZoomFly has a smaller selection, but is generally cheaper and faster than both.

I believe Chief Value is NewEgg.

Cheifvalue is pretty much identical to newegg.

ZZF is extremely fast to ship products usually, and usually has free or cheap 2nd day air on popular items. Thier RMA system is not as good as neweggs, although it isnt bad either. Ive never personally had a problem.

They ship from the same warehouses, but i think they are seperate companies.
