What the heck is this???

This is what I get on one of the computers at work after it ***ALMOST*** competely boots. (Desktop is visible, icons are up, just loading the last few progs in the clock tray).....................

I Googled quite a bit & followed a lot of the Windows referenced links, but it didn't fix it. I had some Adobe Acrobat reader probs recently, but that's been completely solved so I don't think that has anything to do with it.

Anybody got any ideas??? Thanks in advance!!! :thumbsup:

EDIT: To explain more on the system, it's a Dell Optiplex P4/2.4 but we run Win98SE for our specific software/server needs..........(loooong story, don't ask).......otherwise pretty normal. No weird apps installed or anything.

Have you tried looking at msconfig to see what all is loading at startup? Maybe something there...

It appears as though you have a file starting at windows start up *.LGO and the file association is set to run this type of file with Program.exe ( whatever that is ). Go to Explorer and go to the options window and files and find the file type LGO and delete the file association. Then check your startup files with msconfig and search the registry for LGO and find where it is starting from one of the run keys probably and delete the key. Note use caution when editing the registry, make sure you back up first. The details for this extension are here: http://filext.com/detaillist.php?extdetail=LGO . Let us know what you find.

I could be wrong, but I think your system is trying to load Find-a-Drug (a broken installation perhaps?). I do have something called "think.lgo" in my Startup folder. It's a funny filetype that apparently loads up all necessary FaD processes.

BINGO!!!!!!!!! I think you just found it!!!!!

Somebody tried to uninstall FAD thinking it was malware or something........LOL!!!!

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!! Somebody needs to leave these freakin' PC's alone!!!!!! (That's OK, I know who to ask what they did & why).

What's funny is that this person, I'm sure, thought they were doing good, yet when I ran adaware after they got off, there were like 173 mal/spy files found!!!

Sheesh!!!
