They're pretty common chickens, at least around here. They're excellent at brooding (sitting on eggs.) Many modern breeds like to lay a lot of eggs, but don't quite have those instincts to sit on them.
Looks like the cat in your avatar boinked a chicken and this is the offspring. Catchicken....catchemifyoucan!

Didn't seem very interested. How old is Percy? When my cats were younger they would have been after anything that moved. You'd have to restrain them if you didn't want them chasing any other live animal smaller than them. When they were older they were like *yawn* yeah whatever dude...boooring.
Beauiful cat though, bird too. I've never seen one before.
That is an interesting chicken, so it has fur instead of feathers? Or does it just look like fur?
