What the heck is this DNet thing doing in my registry?

I was just looking through the registry on my C433, and I found something odd. In HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software there's a folder called
"Distributed Computing Technologies, Inc.", and there are several keys in the folder. Most of the keys are just weird numbers, but one of them called "MRUClient" points to the DNet executable on my P133. It has the network address of the P133 in there...very weird. I installed the DNet client on the P133 using Russ's install disk, so I dunno why I have registry entries on my C433. Any idea what's going on here?

Edit: I just thought of something. A few months ago I was messing around trying different ways to remote dump my P133. I put a shortcut in the RC5 folder on my P133 with the -update switch. I then tried to run that shortcut from my C433 through windows file sharing, and obviously it didn't work. Could that of put the registry entry in?

OK, I've got it also. But, looking at some of the keys, it looks like graphing parameters. I think it may be from one of the DNET downloads to analyze client data.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Distributed Computing Technologies, Inc.]
"MRUClient"="E:\\download\\dnetc-win32-x86\\DNETC.EXE"
"client.fx"="8"
"client.fy"="16"
"client.wtop"="11"
"client.wleft"="42"
"client.state"="536870912"
"client.view"="99"
"scale.ry"="100"
"scale.rx"="1"
"scale.squelch"="1"
"scale.savg"="1"

last I knew, proxy software stores keys, or something like that, in the registry. I heard that it wasn't a pretty way to deal with it, but it worked.

JonB, my Dnet registry folder has almost identical keys as yours. But I also run the client on my 486, so why isn't it in there too?

BTW, I run ICS on my C433, and that's how I dump my P133 and 486. Also, I've never run a pproxy or anything like that. Oh well

Sukhoi, I think it may be from some of the newer or beta clients that created graphic representation of your cracking rate. Has your 486 ever had one of the 466 or 465 clients installed on it?

I just looked in the latest Beta(467) exe file and found the words

wtop
fx
fy
wleft

look familiar????

Nope, the newest client I've run on any of my computers is 463. Weird. :)

The installer versions do add a key or 2 to the registry. I noticed that since they started distributing the installer again. It probable that they have been adding more registry junk with the newer versions.
