What the heck is the warrantee on Samsung RDRAM, anyway?

I notice on Pricewatch, some vendors say the warrantee is 1 year, and others lifetime. Well I checked with Samsung and they told me the warrantee is with the vendor. I think that's BS. I thought Samsung warrantees the memory for life. Also, what if the vendor goes out of business?
