I've got a Nokia 445pro 21" monitor. It's worked great with no problems for years. I'm running at 1600x1200 @ 85hz, btw. All of the sudden this afternoon, the middle part of the screen gets streched out slightly. Far enough so that the left and right edges are no longer visible. It's cutting off the minimize, maximize & close buttons on a maximized window. The top and bottom of the screen are fine, it's just left to right that's gone nuts. If I draw a circle in photoshop and drag it around the screen, it's short and fat in the middle and tall and skinny at the l&r edges.

If I go into the monitor settings and manually adjust the screen size, the l&r edges look really compressed, so that won't work. Changing frequency does nothing, but if I change the resolution, it seems to fix the problem (except that I want to run at 1600 x 1200). Anyone ever have anything like this happen before? Is my monitor shot?

You should try your monitor on another system, but it sounds like you are seeing "barrel distortion". Should you have the background and equipment, pickup a schematic for the 445Pro and check the pincushion circuits. Nokia lumps this in as part of the deflection circuit in their schematic.
