I am trying to figure this out. I ordered a dvd-115, and I got a dvd-115ga. it works, i guess, but i have no idea what the difference is besides the difference in appearance. can anybody shed some light on this?

What is the DVD-115? my friend bought one from a computer show that said on the paper that it was a 8x but I know that pioneer didn't make an 8x one. which model is the 115 anyway?

Quickfingerz:

The DVD-115 is Pioneer's 16X DVD Drive.

maximus:

Don't worry, the GA is only missing a plug for headphones....

Just for future reference, the DVD-115 is tray-loading, 105 is slot loading (like car cd players)

So my friend had a 16x drive? He returned it 'cause it didn't work. and he had to pay $15 for a 12x because the 8x's were out of stock. The DVD 115 was being sold as an 8x model and sold for $102. Oh my gosh! how did I miss out? i was wonderin' about that 115 is higher in model number than my 104 so when i saw that the guy at the comp show sold it as an 8x i was baffled. I should have purchased 3 or so. Argh!
