Speaking of Vtech and VVTI what so special about it? Don't all car manufacturers have their own thing? Like Porsche's Variocam.
It's their own system for variable valve timing, that's all. VTEC (Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control) was initial widely available system. The individual names have little or nothing beyond marketing value, but the systems have value in that they allow good low-end breathing and good high end breathing. It helps to decrease the trade-off between high RPM power and low-RPM torque. Believe it or not, without VTEC, honda engines would have even worse low-end torque if they had the same high-end power.
