You know...GPG, the GPL implementation of OpenPGP? I downloaded v. 1.0.7 Win32 binaries from notify.org, and noticed there is also newer win32 binaries now, but gpg.org has been down for a couple weeks now. What the heck happened?!

That's my sentiments. What are people supposed to do, donate $12k to NAI for something that should have been kept free anyway?!

Client FTPs data directly to us, but we don't use encrypted FTP or anything. The client uses PGP and insists that we do as well. I was going to put in a PO for $12k to get NAI's software, but then I came across GPG and decided to see how compatible it was.
It works great. I wrote a couple batch scripts to automate decryption of bunches of files. It's beautiful! I'm going to do a large scale production test of it tomorrow...can't wait. I just wish the $12k I might be saving would go directly to me :)

Anyway, I was just randomly looking for an update and noticed GPG.org had disappeared and is still gone.

The correct site is http://www.gnupg.org/

GnuPG is an important open-source project, and while there hypothetically can be times development slows, it's unlikely it would close up shop anytime.

WTF?! I swear I went there this morning and came up empty-handed!!!!!!

Ameesh, my company probably wouldn't be averse to IPSec, but the client already uses PGP and has probably invested thousands in it.
And I get to be the one to tell my company that I discovered a way to do for free what we had planned on spending $12k for!.....
