Last season I watched just about every episode of heroes on nbc.com without a problem. Now I'm trying to watch it and it pauses ever 10 seconds so it can load. grrrrrrrrrrrr

Granted my connections isn't stellar but it's good enough to play TF2 without lag. blah!

1. Heroes is very popular
2. You're not the only one watching it online
3. It's broadband video, not data being transferred via playing a game online

but his point was the change from the smoothness of video play last year vs. now.

I have the same experience. WOrked great last year, now freezes randomly, can't bump it lose, have to restart, it may or may not freeze next time again.

It's definitely a different video experience now.

It's a huge step backwards from where they were. Last year I remember thinking that they managed to find a way to make downloading it off bit torrent seem inconvenient.

If they're really using Real that would explain it....that player is garbage.

I don't know if this will work for sure... But that was happening to me and I just paused the program for an extended period of time and it ran smoothly from that point. (I was watching the Office and My Name is Earl)

I tried pausing it for about 5 minutes but it didn't seem to buffer anything and skipped just as much if not worse afterwards. Next time I'll try leaving it for longer and see if it helps.

I haven't had problems with it playing The Office. However, they insist on contacting the server at ad.doubleclick.net in order to play the thing, so I have to go in and comment that entry out of my HOSTS file before I can watch NBC video. >_<

in fact, after further experience, NBC's new online player is actually unwatchable.

Just snippets, freeze, restart, more of same, freeze, try to bump resulting in involuntary restart, round & round & round..
