What the 'frag' is the problem here..

I use Norton Speed Disk, and I find that more frequently now, my C:\ (which contains basically just Windows and all of it's components) is becomming fragmented a lot. I did a scan last night, and it was at 93% not fragmented, and I did another try again this morning, and it was at 94%, now it's at 56%. Any idea what the problem could be?

Thanks.

If just windows is on your C: drive and really nothing else what's probably becoming fragmented is your temporary internet files folder. If you surf a lot and have it set to use a good chunk of disk space (I think the default is 20megs) that'll become fragmented fast. Since there are A LOT of files there it makes Speed Disk think your HDD is really fragmented. Try flushing your cache and emptying your recycle bin and see how fragmented you C: drive is. If it's still really high you might have another problem...
