The name "7K1000" refers to the series of drives, not capacity(though the name is derived from the highest capacity of the series, 1000GB).
Available in 1000 GB or 750 GB capacities, maybe 500 GB as well?

While I certainly have had my share of trouble with TigerDirect, I don't think selling a clearly and correctly labeled product at the appropriate price is one of them.

According to Nextag, the 7k1000 (means 1TB HDD) is only $280, and the 750GB model is the only one! The result is that they don't even tell you about the 1000GB drive because there's a cheaper one!

You have no idea what you are talking about.

Please refer to Hitachi's website before flying off the handle.

How freaking hard is it to understand that 7K1000 is the name of a series, including a 750 GB and a 1000 GB model?
IBM/HGST have named them like that since the DeskStar series was released, 75GXP indicated a MAX capacity of 75 GB for the series, 60 GB MAX for 60GXP, etc etc.

I think you are talking to yourself. Or at least that is how it appears to be.

?

Your link just confirms what he is saying.

Never seen a thread complaining about the labeling of drive series before, interesting. Were people this pissed when the T7K500 series were sold as low as 250GB?

Probably not, because some people can actually read. The OP must be using his "Jump to Conclusions" mat :)
